Seeing a charge from Epoch on your bill?

Sometimes people rush to complete a sale without reading all of the details of the purchase.  Almost everyone is guilty of this at some level.  For instance, who reads all those service agreements when you upgrade a piece of software, and even if you did read them would the legal-ease mean anything to you?   Who wants to read multiple pages of information just to use an app on a phone, or laptop or tablet anyway?

It's often said that the devil is in the details.  Or in other words, the fine print.  And while there may be some truth to that sentiment, this is never the case with a purchase you make with Epoch.  We ensure that the terms and conditions of every purchase are clearly, legibly, and prominently displayed on the form in which you enter your payment information.  Second, we require merchants who use our services to clearly list the terms and conditions on their website as well.  Third, you will receive an email immediately after completion of the sale stating exactly what was purchased and the terms of the sale.  Fourth, information about how to change your purchase, update your payment type, cancel a subscription, or get help with a password are all stated directly on your email receipt of purchase.  Fifth, you can cancel any membership/subscription at any time you wish.  You are not required to remain in any subscription.  Ever.

You are, however, responsible for purchases that you make.  And, you are also responsible for subsequent billing if you remain a subscriber to a website.  It is for this very reason that we go beyond reasonable expectation to ensure that you are fully informed of any purchase you make online.  We want every customer that uses Epoch to manage their online subscriptions and purchases to be completely satisfied with our services.

To learn more about our services or inquire about a charge, please visit Epoch.com.

What is the payment card industry data security standard?

The payment card industry data security standard (PCI-DSS) process was created to provide secure transactions for purchases that take place on the internet.  It is required that all online businesses comply with this process at the point of sale.  The payment card industry data security standard process provides that confidential information is encrypted during transfer.  It promotes a safer online marketplace and ensures that online merchants adhere to safety standards when handling sensitive financial data.

In 2002, Epoch was among the first companies in the world to adopt VBV (Verified by Visa) and MasterCard Secure Code. Furthering our commitment to security, Epoch was the first to certify with the PCI –DSS then known as CISP, in April 2002.

Epoch Helps Customers Resolve Disputes

Sometimes a customer is not sure why they've received a charge from Epoch.  This can happen because we are the payment service provider for thousands of online merchants.  So, how do you know which purchase you've been charged for?

People understandably get upset when they think someone has taken their money without authorization.  They feel they've been ripped off or have fallen victim to a scam.  While it is a possibility that someone may have used your credit or debit card without your knowledge, this is very rarely the case.  People often make purchases they later forget about.  A quick review from the Epoch website or with a helpful customer service representative can help you recall what you purchased.

You should have received an email receipt from Epoch when the purchase was initially completed.  Check your email now to see if you have it.  (see #1 below)   If you did not receive your email receipt for the transaction, then you can easily find the details of any transaction by using the Purchase Finder on Epoch's home page.  There you may review any charges processed by Epoch and see exactly what they were for and when they were made.

If you wish to find out why you received a charge from Epoch, there are several ways to do so.

1)  Use your email search bar and type in "Epoch" to try to retrieve your email receipt.  Information about your purchase and how to contact customer support can be found there.

2)  If you can't locate your receipt, go to Epoch.com where you can use the Purchase Finder tool to identify the purchase made to your card.

3)  If you're still having trouble, you can call our customer support center any time of day and get a live agent on the phone within seconds.  There are no endless menus to navigate and calls are generally connected to a helpful agent within fifteen seconds.

4) If you'd rather not call, you may use our live chat option.  You'll be connected to a helpful agent within a few seconds.

5) Alternatively you may send us an email with any question you have.

In the unfortunate circumstance that your card number has been compromised, we'll be happy to help you resolve the charges.  You will then want to contact your bank's fraud department and report your card as stolen so they may reissue you a new card number.  If you delay reporting a lost, stolen, or compromised card, your liability for additional fraudulent purchases increases.
If your card number has been stolen and a purchase was made as an unauthorized debit card or other electronic fund transfer, you may have additional protections under federal law.

Tip: Report your lost or stolen card within two business days of when you discover it is missing so you limit your losses to $50 or less.  For more information about how to protect your accounts, visit the official US government website for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Epoch is a trusted name since 1996 and we never forget that we are a service industry.  We're always here to help.
