POLi is an internet payment service that allows a customer to pay an online merchant directly to a nominated bank account using their online bank account. Payments are instantly debited from the customer’s account and the merchant is immediately notified that the payment has occurred. A credit card is not required but the customer must be registered with the merchant and must be registered for online banking with their bank. It is used in Australia and New Zealand.
